Told you, that I'm going to a class about "water".
Today (and for the next lessons) was our subject "watercolours".
The modern way to use watercolour not only for making sketches but
as a "stand-alone" technique started at the end of the 18./ begin of
the 19.century in England. Before that time only Albrecht Duerer
used watercolours that way.
In Germany were the artists from "Die Bruecke" and
"Der Blaue Reiter" cutting-edge for this movement.
It was a possibility to paint spontaneous and gives the contemplator
the chance to complete what he watches in his mind.
Space is generated by the colour and not by a drawing.

Well, this is a little bit art-history for you (things, you perhaps already
know). Just wanted to tell you some of the facts. But more than this
I think it's fascinating to see the examples of watercolour paintings
from Paul Klee and August Macke, like we did this morning.
Just the simple and evident thing for example of the flowing
watercolour. The difference of a dry pencil or the wet in wet technique.
Very, very interesting and inspiring.

As we thought, it was too cold to make our Easter picnic like every
year outside. So we stayed at home and did hide the eggs in the
house. For the kids it was great fun anyway.

Today the winter is trying a comeback with a little bit of snow in the

Here I am, back again.
Was a long time without my blog and I missed it very much.
Missed you.
There were cable-problems and finally an excavator had to open
our street. And some experts came....
Hope, there will be no breakdowns and everything works fine.

An empty fountain at the municipal park.

I've started making a course at the adult education centre about
"water".
Water in art history and literature. Beginning with Adam and Eva.
Indeed we started with the Flood.
When you just think about it, the water-subject is everywhere,
omnipresent. It's very exciting and promising to concentrate on this
topic. It's something I'm fascinated by for a long time now.

I'll keep posting some watery news now and then....
