hope your Christmas was nice.

Oskar made this Christmas tree boy with an old magnetic game.
It´s such a lovely toy.

And Emil made this snowman with his dad some days ago, when
there was a little bit of snow, it´s gone now.

Nathalie Lete

Platebird

Portraittapisbd

today I`m very happy to be able to show you a little interview I´ve
done with Nathalie Lete.
Guess almost everybody of you knows her great work.

Hello Nathalie, thank you so very much for say yes. It`s a big
pleasure for me to make this interview with you, I admire your
approach to art.
So, let`s start.

Have you ever been thinking to run a blog? Would love to have the
possibility to see more frequently news from your workshop or what
your inspirarions are.
never. first i don´t have the time, and second
i don`t like to speak
too much....the only thing for me wich seems really interesting in

blogs is an easy way to express yourself and show your world.

Do you follow any blogs?
no, i don´t spend time on internet at all..
only to answer my emails take already enough time...

You are located in Paris. Is that the place you have always lived?
we live here with husband and kids, since ten years.

Ca-arc

How is the connection to other
Parisian artists, are there collaborations you do?
i don´t collaborate with other artists..., i would love to mix more
technics
with oter artists, but it doesn´t happen.
but i work in collaboration with many publishers, and that is for
me a way
to work with other people and have communication...
otherwise you are often alone.

Your work includes may various skills. What of that big palette
is handmade by you?
i do all my silkscreenprints in a studio in berlin, and participate
a lot to the work.
for the ceramics, i do all the unique pieces and
prototypes myself, i have an oven,
i do all the paintings and then
show them to publishers who decide if they want to use

them or not on products... i do embroideries myself, but only
the prototypes and then
the production is made in india.. in fact,
only for the rugs, i don`t do them, i do only the
painting and all
the first technical work, separation of colors and types of wool, etc..

but not the final work.

Usagi

The view in to your workshop you show on your website is awesome.
You seem to be a passionate collector of colourful and funny stuff.
yes i like to collect things...not the idea of collection, but the idea
of buying things and then have them under my eyes if i wish..

Atelier

Toys

The "collection" of ceramic minerals made by you I like especially.
Is it that what the universe of your work is a little bit about: you can
create a whole world by yourself, just how you like it?
yes i like to create my own world...for the sea it is something
i would discover in real, but I´m very afraid of water, specially under
the water
middle in the sea!

Tapispapillon

Can you tell a little bit about what the next project is you´re working
on?
i´m just working again on the theme of the butchery; i already did this
ten years ago, but now i want to elaborate some products on this
theme...i will show this work on the fair in september.

What did the last travels go to you made work/private?
i was in nyork private, also in india for my work...
next is to japan in april...for my work, i have mostly of my
customers there.

Chalemuseum

commission for Issey Miyake

Catalogues

commission for Shiseido

Ok, would you tell us something about what you love to eat or cook
or if you love going out for dinner, cause I find that a very interesting
part of a person.
i love german food what remind me of my "oma" from Kloster
Andechs
in bavaria..knödel, gulash, schweinbraten, wurst....und liebe
käsekuchen..
like very much japanese food, and all asia food. my
father is chinese, so for the
same reason, remind me of when i was
small.

Thank you so very much for answering, Nathalie!

For more beautiful photos go to her website and don´t miss this video
of Nathalie live painting.
